FOUNDATIONS SUPPORT SLCT AND SO CAN YOU
We are thrilled to announce that The Arizona Commission on the Arts recently informed SLCT that it is the recipient of its FY 2023 Creative Capacity Grant. These funds will assist SLCT in continuing efforts to provide theatrical productions to the Sun Lakes Community and beyond.
Last year, the Greater Sun Lakes Community Foundation provided funding for the specific need for hiring younger, strong workers to assist in the loading and set up of equipment, supplies, risers, curtains, set pieces, etc. needed for the performances of “Catch Me If You Can”, “Last Round-Up of the Guacamole Queens”, and “Sex Please We’re Sixty”. Volunteer members of SLCT were saved from difficult and potentially dangerous efforts that require more agility, strength and stamina than most seniors can provide. Sun Lakes Unity Church also donated a gift for labor costs as well.
Membership dues and ticket sales do not always provide enough revenue to put on three shows per season. For that reason, Foundation grants and donations from community resources are vital to SLCT’s ability to entertain audiences with quality productions. We are truly grateful for their support!
