Improvisational Comedy Performances
The ImproVables Performing at IronOaks in April
The ImproVables, Sun Lakes Community Theatre’s comedy improv troupe, will bring their brand of laughter and hijinks to IronOaks Ballroom (located adjacent to Stone & Barrel) on Tuesday, April 9, 2024.
Aptly entitled “Spring into Laughter,” the event ticket price will be $30 per person and includes a delicious buffet dinner with the show. The menu is “Taco Tuesday” inspired with a buffet that includes chicken and beef tacos with all the fixings, chips and salsa, churros with chocolate or caramel sauce, and $5 margaritas! Doors open at 5 pm, dinner will begin at 5:30 pm, and the show starts at 6:30 pm.
Audiences are an important part of every ImproVables show as they offer ideas and suggestions for almost all games and scenes. Because of this, every performance is unique and different.
Tickets go on sale on Tuesday, February 27, at 10 am. They can be purchased at the Oakwood Clubhouse Concierge desk or online at www.ironoakstickets.com . Don’t delay securing your tickets as the seating is limited and The ImproVables’ shows sell out very quickly!
Support For Local Schools
SLCT advises and provides financial aid to drama programs in local high schools. We also stage plays in elementary schools for children in grades K through 2. The most recent performances have plays in the Horton the Elephant series. These events are structured to be opportunities to teach about theater. More info is HERE.
What Else Do We Do
While doing these activities we provide opportunities to practice and learn the necessary skills ranging from play production and direction through acting, lighting and business and house management. Any resident of the Sun Lakes Community is welcome to join us via the Membership Application at the top of this page.
Finally, we support ourselves with ticket sales, donations, foundation grants and other forms of financial aid. You can learn more about our Supporters Circle and why we need your support by clicking on the CIRCLE.
